The Case of the Elusive Electrons
A major Boston translation service was commissioned to translate a document from Spanish into English. The service failed to appreciate that the Spanish text referred to an electrical power system and did not use translators who were experienced with power systems. The translators translated the Spanish word "carga," which in this context means "load," as in "electrical load," as "cargo." "Trial runs" was translated as "short-circuit courses."
